On March 21 every year, the world comes together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing mismatched socks. March 21 is symbolic because people with Down Syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome. But why socks? Because the karyotype of Down Syndrome chromosomes actually looks like mismatched socks!

This year 2021, we created som different activities on that day to draw attention to Down Syndrome, contribute with money and spread knowledge:

  • A mother of baby (Lilly) with Down Syndrome held a takeover and Q&A on STUCKIES® Instagram Story
  • 21 sek of each sold pair got donated to the Swedish Down Syndrome Association
  • A fundraising to the Swedish Down Syndrome Association on Instagram and Facebook
  • 20 swedish influencers received mismatched STUCKIES® and an activity to attract attention to Down Syndrome. With every completed activity STUCKIES® donated 210 sek to the Swedish Down Syndrome Association.

All together with our customers, a couple of influencers, followers, Lilly's mom and our fundraising we managed to raise 1849 sek to the Swedish Down Syndrome Association. We want to thank every single one who has made a difference on this day!

Remember - every day is a day to support Down Syndrome!
